mission statement
Blūm Health’s is an organization that sprouted from the idea that healthcare should go beyond management of chronic disease but promote a truly healthy community by reversing or preventing disease through functional medicine. The Institute of Functional Medicine this type of practice in the following way:
“Functional medicine provides a framework to systematically identify and address the underlying processes and dysfunctions that are causing imbalance and disease in everyone. By understanding a patient’s genetic, environmental, and lifestyle influences, functional medicine clinicians create personalized interventions that restore balance, health, and well-being.”
To provide this type of care, our practice needs to differ from others in the way we interact with our patients, being faithful to our promises and providing a friendly and caring atmosphere for those whose lives we touch. The following are the core beliefs of this organization for the purpose of respecting the mission and vision from which it was created:
- We believe in treating all patients as if they are family
- We believe in quality, not only of our services but our relationships, communications and our promises
- We believe in providing services to our community that are vitally necessary and providing an alternative to conventional medicine
- We believe that we should be a resource to our patients and work tirelessly to help them understand their body and give them tools to maximize their health through relationships, education, empowerment and advocacy.
- We believe that patient approach should be personalized and holistic
- We expect profit, but profit from work benefits society
- We believe we do not exist to maximize profit, yet we must nonetheless be efficient, productive, and profitable business or else we limit the ability to be of service
- We believe in growth, not only for the organization but for individuals as well.
- We believe in fostering relationships with our patients and each other so we can all become a team with one goal.
We are determined with the help of God’s grace to fulfill these obligations to the best of our ability.
Vision Statement
Blūm’s Health Vision is that of growth to create a healthier community. We acknowledge that the future of our company rests solely on knowledge, imagination, skills, teamwork, and the integrity of our employees and we value these qualities most highly. We envision a team that believes in our core beliefs and values and seeks to grow within this field not only to preserve human life, but to add quality of life to those we serve.
Insurance
We practice functional medicine and typically, functional medicine practices do not accept insurance. Our provider wanted everyone to benefit from this excellent way of delivering health and was creative in making Blūm Health a hybrid type of practice. We bill insurance for services that can be covered, and offer self-paying services and products for those which are not covered by insurance. This helps patient save money and invest it in other health promotion services.
